Building an Indigo Lantern – The Patch
One of the greatest challenges I’ve encountered in this project, aside from figuring out what sort of costume to actually wear since I am not built to dress like Indigo-1, has been the lantern patch. On a recent trip to Atlanta, I asked at a large comic shop if they had any of the Lantern Corps patches in stock besides the ones you see everywhere. It was then that I learned that the company who made them released them in 2002 and no more have been released since then. No wonder I couldn’t find what I was looking for!
So, being the crafty person that I am, I decided to try my hand at making my own patch. Everything else is my own interpretation, so why not?
Here is a photo of my first attempt:
Not too shabby, all things considered, but for obvious reasons, I was less than pleased.
This evening I regrouped, after a bit of preparation, and made some major changes to my process. The result was this:
See how much nicer that looks?
And who says you can’t learn anything from being in a sorority in college
